Dream Schools

A better place to learn, a wider future to reach.

Helping improve classrooms, libraries, lighting, clean water and sanitation at under-resourced schools, so that every school day is safe and joyful.

In planning

This program is in the planning stage. Every activity described below is intended and will be delivered through legally recognised partners once conditions are met.
01

The challenge

Many satellite schools in highland and remote areas are still makeshift: leaking roofs, earthen floors, poor lighting, broken desks, no library and inadequate toilets.

An unsafe or uncomfortable learning environment directly affects children's health, concentration and the simple joy of going to school — especially for girls when clean, private toilets are missing.

Renovating schools requires resources, permits and close coordination with local authorities. We want to contribute to that process in a structured, rule-abiding way.

02

Goals & approach

  • Support repairs of deteriorated classrooms at partner schools to keep them safe and dry.
  • Improve lighting, electrical systems and provide standard-compliant furniture.
  • Build or renovate small libraries and welcoming reading corners.
  • Improve clean water supply and school sanitation.
  • Fund larger school construction projects once resources and legal procedures are in place.
03

Who we aim to serve

  • Satellite classrooms, primary schools and kindergartens in highland and remote areas.
  • Schools damaged by storms, floods or landslides.
  • Students and teachers currently working in temporary or borrowed rooms.
  • Village communities that use the school as a shared community space.
04

Planned activities

1

Classroom repairs

Re-roofing, waterproofing, flooring, painting and structural reinforcement for classrooms that are no longer safe.

2

Lighting and electrical systems

Installing classroom-standard lighting, safe wiring and ventilation fans.

3

Libraries and reading corners

Building or renovating small libraries with shelves, floor mats, age-appropriate books and a simple lending system.

4

Furniture, boards and teaching aids

Correctly sized desks and chairs by grade, anti-glare boards and hands-on teaching materials.

5

Clean water and sanitation

Water filtration, storage tanks, clean gender-separated toilets and handwashing stations.

6

Future school buildings

When resources allow: new classrooms or satellite schools built to standard designs, fully permitted and inspected.

7

Collaborative delivery

Every project is coordinated with the school, the district education office, local authorities and qualified contractors.

05

Implementation plan

  1. 1

    Phases 1–2

    Survey & prioritise

Build a list of schools in need with district education offices; define prioritisation criteria and a condition-survey template.

  2. 2

    Phase 4

    Small-scale renovations

Start with small, low-bureaucracy items: lighting, furniture, libraries, clean water.

  3. 3

    Phase 5

    Larger projects

Once legal status and stable resources exist: take part in classroom repairs and new construction under regulations.

06

Expected outcomes

  • Classrooms that are safer, brighter and better ventilated.
  • Students have a library and reading space at school.
  • Improved hygiene conditions, reducing illness and increasing girls' attendance.
  • Local communities take part in and help maintain the improvements.
